Melamine panels
Product Description
Melamine is a decorative surface option for particleboard or MDF panels that can be used to replace high pressure laminates in many applications. Melamine board is easy to clean, durable, waterproof, and resistant to scratching, stains, and shattering. It also can save money and time during application because sanding or finishing are not required as with solid wood products. Available in a wide selection of textures and natural wood grains, melamine panels are a cost-effective, multipurpose option for adding color and finishes to designs and projects.
It is worth noting that while the material itself is waterproof, if water penetrates into the particleboard underneath, it could cause the melamine to warp. Additionally, even though melamine is very sturdy, if not installed properly, the particleboard substrate can sustain damage and cause the melamine to chip. Because melamine board edges are unfinished, melamine will require an edgebanding to cover the area.
